A statewide culture initiative from the Keystone Region of USA Volleyball

WHAT THE KEYSTONE WAY IS
A shared standard for how we show up across Pennsylvania volleyball.
The Keystone Way is how KRVA defines a better volleyball experience across the Keystone Region — one built on respect, growth, teamwork, and community.
It is not a program you register for, and it is not a set of rules you follow only at tournaments. It is a shared expectation for how athletes, coaches, parents, and officials experience the game — every weekend, on every court.
When it’s working, the difference is obvious: players feel supported instead of pressured, coaches lead with clarity, officials are respected, and sidelines raise the level of the game instead of distracting from it.
What it looks like in practice:
- Athletes are encouraged to compete with confidence and learn through experience
- Parents and fans understand their role in creating a positive sideline environment
- Coaches focus on development, not just outcomes
- Officials are treated as essential to the integrity of the game
- Every event reflects consistency, safety, and respect
The Foundation:
This is not about perfection. It’s about alignment.
When everyone commits to the same standard of behavior and support, volleyball becomes better for everyone involved – and athletes stay in the game longer because of it.
Why it matters: The environment around athletes shapes how they compete, respond to challenges, and remain connected to the game.
