Requirements for all Referees and Scorers at all levels:

  • Current KRVA membership
  • Pass the USAV background screening (every 2 years)
  • PA 153 Clearances
  • SafeSport Certification (re-certify every 2 years)
  • Concussion Training

 

Officials and Scorers must also pass the required test and coursework for their level of officiating each season and be rated according to the Region requirements.

Referees are now required to complete the scoring coursework and test included in their Officials coursework for their refereeing level.

  1. Be a Current KRVA member
  2. Be 16 or older as of September 1 of the current season
  3. Complete Officials training and test via USAV academy (available early-mid fall) Pass with an 84%
  4. Current SafeSport Certification
  5. Submit concussion awareness training certificate
  6. PA 153 clearances on file with region office
  7. Create / updated official profile on Assigning program
  8. Get rated each year at the annual “Keystone Rating Rally” in December
  9. Must work at least 2 in-region tournaments each season

Regionals
  1. Be a Current KRVA member
  2. Be 18 or older as of September 1 of the current season
  3. Complete Officials training and test via USAV academy (available early-mid fall) Pass with an 84%

  4. Create / updated official profile on Assigning program
  5. Get rated every 3 years at the annual “Keystone Rating Rally” in December (2018-19 Group: Last Name beginning with A through H)
  6. Must work at least 1 Region-Run (BANE, Bid, Championships) tournament each season

Junior Nationals and Nationals
  1. Be a Current KRVA member
  2. USAV National Referee Clinic (as outlined in the Junior National and National Referee requirements from USAV each season)
  3. Complete the appropriate Officials and Scorers training and test via USAV Academy as required by USAV for Junior National or National Certification (available October 15th)

> Pass with a 90%

  1. Current SafeSport Certification
  2. Submit concussion awareness training certificate
  3. PA 153 clearances on file with region office
  4. Maintain official profile on Assigning program
  5. Get rated according to USAV requirements
  6. Must work at least 1 Region-Run (BANE, Bid, Championships) tournament each season and/or complete one of the other options outlined in the download below.

SAFESPORT TRAINING

To take the SafeSport Training, you must have a current USAV membership. If you are not a current member, you must first register/renew. Once a current member, follow the instructions below:

  1. Log into your Webpoint Account
  2. In the navigation menu, click on USAV Clinics and select USAV Coaching Clinics
  3. Select SafeSport On-Demand: Core Center for SafeSport Training
  4. Complete registration
  5. To access coursework, click on the “Log into USAV Academy” button

Should you need to return to your coursework at a later time, log in to your USAV account and click on the “Log into USAV Academy” button.

All adults working directly with Juniors are required to take this training, which includes all coaches, officials, club directors, tournament directors, and more.

PA 153 CLEARANCES
