Sophomore Stella Baruffi from High Line Volleyball Club is in the spotlight this month. This outside hitter has learned some valuable life lessons through her volleyball experience thus far, the most important lesson: “To always be confident in what I do.”

Who is your most influential role model and why? Harper Murray [University of Nebraska]. I relate to her not just as a player but as a person as well. She has a determination and drive that I look up to, but it also pushes me to be a better player.

Do you have a favorite tournament experience? I had a tournament at West Chester University and my team and I were facing our rival team during the championship match. It was a very intense and energetic match! It was one of the best games I’ve ever experienced. That was the game that brought me more passion for the sport but also, I learned a lot of determination and to never give up because you never know what is going to happen.

What would most people be surprised to learn about you? I am a huge Phillies and Eagles fan.

What are three activities you enjoy outside of volleyball? I really enjoy going to High School Ministry at church with my friend every week, hanging out with my friends, and anything involving cosmetology.

What is the biggest lesson you learned from volleyball? You don’t have to be perfect, just give it your all.

Most interesting thing you did last summer? I went down to the beach with my friends, and I also went to Villanova and Kutztown University volleyball camps with a few of my friends.
