Summer & Fall Tryouts

Junior players may try out for as many clubs as they would like during the Tryout period. Some tryouts will overlap, so it is up to you and your child to determine which tryouts to attend and schedule as such.

Please remember, if an Loyalty Offer was accepted, then your child is bound to that club and may not attend tryouts for a different club. Sanctions will be imposed if an athlete goes to another club’s tryouts.

Clubs may use a variety of methods to select their players. Some clubs may choose to hold tryouts; some clubs may accept everyone who chooses to be a part of their program; some clubs limit their membership to a certain school district or metro area; and, some clubs extend invitations to interested juniors. The method that you use is of your choice. However, all clubs must adhere to the basic premises of our region’s tryout policy.

Extending an invitation is considered the same as making an offer at a tryout with the same guidelines and deadlines. Accepting a registration is the same as making an offer with the same deadlines. For example, a club that does not hold tryouts but “asks” players to play for their club may not “ask” a player until the applicable offer period begins. Once a player is “asked,” they have 48 hours to make up their mind.

If a club hands you an Offer letter/contract at tryouts or verbally offers a position for you child it is invalid. The only offers that are valid and binding are written offers emailed to the family of the player with [email protected] CC’d on the email and they must be sent during the correct dates and times. Any offer before or after that is invalid. A club is allowed to let you know an offer will be extended to your athlete and what the offer will include, but it must be in writing as stated above. No matter what time of the year it is, a verbal offer is NOT BINDING, and an offer not sent via email with [email protected] CC’d is not considered binding.  Clubs may promise to send an offer or give a position on a team verbally, but until it is in writing on the offer letter it is not binding.
