Meet Danielle, one of the KRVA Achievement Scholarship recipients for 2024. Danielle heads to St. Peter’s University in New Jersey this fall to study Business and play volleyball for the Peacocks. In the future she hopes to own her own business, maybe even her own volleyball club.

Danielle:

KRVA: What have you learned about yourself through volleyball?
Danielle:
I have learned that I am a natural leader that enjoys taking charge and encouraging others.

KRVA: Who is your most influential role model and why?
Danielle:
My sister Jenna is my most influential role model. She is extremely hard-working and loyal. We are each other’s biggest cheerleaders and I strive to be like her.

KRVA: Do you have a favorite tournament experience?
Danielle:
Capitol Hill Classic in Washington, DC

KRVA: What would most people be surprised to learn about you?
Danielle:
Most people would be surprised to learn that I know every word from the musical Hamilton.

KRVA: What are three activities you enjoy outside of volleyball?
Danielle:
Weightlifting, going to coffee shops, traveling

KRVA: Favorite pre-game meal:
Danielle:
Iced Oat Milk Latte and a bagel with cream cheese.

KRVA: The furthest you’ve traveled to play volleyball?
Danielle:
Tampa, FL

KRVA: What’s the weirdest thing in your volleyball backpack right now?
Danielle: Green shamrock glasses from MEQ in Indianapolis.

KRVA: What is the biggest lesson you learned from volleyball?
Danielle: Volleyball has taught me that being mentally tough is just as important as being physically tough. You must be mentally able to work hard even on bad days. Mental toughness is giving 100% of your available effort every day. I learned nothing I want in life will come easy, so I must stay determined, consistent, and disciplined to accomplish my goals.
