Madeline is one of the KRVA Achievement Scholarship recipients for 2024. She will be attending the Gardner-Webb University in the fall to study Elementary Education, hoping to focus on the 4th or 5th grade level. Looking further into the future, she is interested in coaching at the middle school or high school level.
KRVA: Which volleyball position do you play?
Maddy: I am a Middle Blocker.
KRVA: What have you learned about yourself through volleyball?
Maddy: I have learned that I have a team first mentality and will play any role needed to ensure my team’s success.
KRVA: Who is your most influential role model and why?
Maddy: My most influential role model is Libby, my club volleyball director/coach, because she saw my potential at age 12 and has supported, coached, trained and pushed me to be the best volleyball player I can be.
KRVA: Do you have a favorite tournament experience?
Maddy: The Northeast Qualifier is my favorite tournament.
KRVA: What would most people be surprised to learn about you?
Maddy: Most people would be surprised to learn that I was once a very shy, quiet girl who wasn’t sure she wanted to play volleyball at all.
KRVA: What are three activities you enjoy outside of volleyball?
Maddy: I enjoy reading, taking naps and hanging out with my friends.

Maddy: Mac and Cheese

Maddy: Orlando, FL

Maddy: Lip gloss
KRVA: What is the biggest lesson you learned from volleyball?
Maddy: Volleyball has taught me to be confident, work extremely hard, and to support others, including teammates and young players who look up to me.
