KRVA Junior Tryout Pass
As a region of USA Volleyball, Keystone Region follows specific national guidelines and procedures for club tryouts and membership. If your athlete is attending a KRVA-sanctioned tryout, they are required to have a KRVA/USAV Tryout Pass. This allows for insurance coverage should anything unforeseen happen during an KRVA/USAV sanctioned Tryout. However, the Tryout Pass does not cover open gyms that a club may host. The cost to you is $15 and when you upgrade to a Junior Player Membership this fee is subtracted from the full membership cost of $65. (You still pay $65 total but in two separate increments, and only if you commit to a club.)
Individual Club Tryout Fees
A club may charge a Tryout Fee. This fee may help to cover costs associated with gym rental, coach stipends, tryout t-shirts, or countless other items involved in a tryout. These fees are determined by individual clubs and can vary.
Offers
An official club offer will arrive via email and offers@krva.org will be copied on the email. Offers and acceptances that do not include this email address are invalid. Null and void. (Be sure to include it.)
All offers, regular season offers AND loyalty offers, must include the following information in the email:
- Club name in the email and subject line
- Player’s name
- Team name
- Age group
- Maximum number of players on the team
- Tuition range for the season
- Full explanation of what is included in the tuition (i.e. uniforms, 6-8 tournaments, practices, coaching fees, etc.)
- What the tuition does NOT include
- offers@krva.org must be CC’ed on all emails
PDF attachments do not count as part of the offer. Nor do offers handed to you on a piece of paper.
Loyalty Offers
A club may extend a Loyalty Offer to any of its junior girl athletes who played for the club during the prior season. This is completely optional on the club side of things, not all clubs extend Loyalty Offers. When an athlete accepts a Loyalty Offer they are at that point officially associated with the club and may not under any circumstance attend a tryout for any other club. Period.
Accepting a Loyalty Offer from a club that you DID NOT play for last season is a recruiting violation and will result in penalties.
Loyalty Offers are extended in July of each season at the discretion of the club.
Cautions
The following items are violations of Keystone Region policies and can result in penalties.
- Clubs, coaches, and club personnel may initiate contact with a parent or guardian, but MAY NOT contact an athlete.
- Parents or guardians may contact a club, coach, or club personnel at any time.
- Club representatives that switch clubs MAY NOT contact any player from their previous club.
- All offers are binding. Athletes that commit to a club are not permitted to attend a different club’s tryout for any reason, and may be subject to sanctions and/or penalties.
As always, if you have questions never hesitate to reach out the Keystone Region Office via phone or email.
