Welcome to the Keystone Region’s newest series called Member Spotlight. We will be highlighting one KRVA member each month and interviewing them with some fun get-to-know-you questions. Each member – athlete, coach, admin, or official – will be randomly selected from our current membership.
Our very first Member Spotlight is a junior athlete, Macie Colf. Macie is a high school freshman who currently plays for Surge Volleyball Club as a setter.
KRVA: What are some things that you have learned about yourself through volleyball?
Macie: I love the game very much. I enjoy playing setter and helping my teammates. I have learned that I like to be challenged and I am learning to stay positive when things may not go perfectly.
KRVA: Who is your most influential role model and why?
Macie: My mom and dad – she is my best friend and my dad always supports me in life/sports.
KRVA: Do you have a favorite tournament experience?
Macie: I just enjoy the close games, when everyone is giving their all to try to win.
KRVA: What would most people be surprised to learn about you?
Macie: I was born in Florida and lived there until 2nd grade.
KRVA: What are three activities you enjoy outside of volleyball?
Macie: Reading, shopping, and hanging out with friends
KRVA: Favorite pre-game meal:
Macie: Chicken nuggets
KRVA: The furthest you’ve traveled to play volleyball?
Macie: All my tournaments have been in-state so far, but this year we are planning to play in Boston.
