Instead of managing scoresheets by hand, players and scorers will now keep score directly on their phones or tablets—making the process faster, clearer, and more reliable. KRVA will have digital tablets at each score table with the app preloaded and ready to go.
VolleyStation is designed to be intuitive and rule-compliant. The app will not allow actions that go against volleyball rules, significantly reducing scoring errors. It automatically tracks substitutions, manages timeouts, and ensures that match flow remains within regulations at all times. This built-in structure helps scorers stay confident and focused, even during fast-paced play.
While most scoring responsibilities move to the app, paper will still be used to track libero exchanges, ensuring accuracy where manual notation remains necessary.
To support a smooth transition, training is critical. VolleyStation offers helpful resources, including the ability to score a practice match within the app. This allows scorers to become familiar with how everything works before being responsible for a live match, building confidence and consistency.
Once lineups—including liberos—are entered correctly, scoring becomes remarkably simple. In fact, about 99% of the time, the process is as easy as clicking a button to record a serve and then awarding a point to the team that wins the rally.
Equally important is clear communication between the referee and the scorer. Strong communication ensures substitutions, timeouts, and special situations are accurately reflected in the app. It is also crucial that the scorer remains at the score table after the match so the referee can review the match, confirm results, sign, and officially enter the scores.
