Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Keystone Regional Volleyball Association, a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania since 1982. The Keystone Region is a not-for-profit corporation under Section 510(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Service Code, and exists as a division of USA Volleyball, the National Governing Body for the sport of volleyball, as defined in the Amateur Sports Act, public law 95.606.

The Board is composed of a Commissioner, Secretary and Treasurer along with six at-large Advisory Board members. All nine individuals are responsible for the direction and organization of the Region. The Board meets four times a year and positions are three-year terms, beginning on August 1 and ending three years later on July 31.

KRVA ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD

The Administrative Board oversees the daily direction and organization of the Region. The Commissioner of the Board, or someone appointed by the Commissioner, also serves as liaison and represents the Region at National Volleyball meetings, and conferences.

The Administrative Board may meet to discuss and resolve urgent matters that may come up throughout the year.


KRVA ADVISORY BOARD

The Advisory Board is responsible for the direction, organization and proposed budgeting of events and programs.

Board members must report to the Board any and all conflicts of interest that might actually interfere, or create a perception of interference, with their ability to perform their responsibilities to the Region. Board members must set aside any personal differences in order to represent Region members and act, establish policy, and implement decisions in the best interests of the Region.

ELECTION SEASON

Membership on the Board of Directors is open to individuals who are interested in advancing the mission and purpose of the Region, are members in good standing, and meet all eligibility requirements outlined in the Region By-Laws. Please refer to the official By-Laws located HERE.

Interested candidates must be at least 21 years of age and should complete the Candidate Requirements Form, which includes:

  • A short personal biography
  • A formal statement explaining why they are seeking election
  • A summary of the experience, perspective, and contributions they would bring to the Board and the Region

The Nominating Committee will review all submissions and present qualified candidates to the Board for consideration by December 1.

Candidate biographies and statements will be published on the KRVA website between December 15 and March 1. Elections will take place online between April 15 and May 1, as well as in person during the Voting Meeting.

Any uncontested position will automatically be renewed for an additional term.
